Filming of It’s Over

Nestled amidst the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea lies Ibiza, a Spanish island known for its vibrant nightlife, stunning beaches, and soul-stirring sunsets. However, beyond the bustling clubs and beach parties, Ibiza also holds a serene charm that beckons creatives seeking inspiration. I’d never seen this different side to the White Isle. I visited San Antonio when I was 18 so the trip was extremely different now at the ripe age of 35! I couldn’t believe the aura that Ibiza gave off and the endless beauty of the place!

Recently, me and BM Creative embarked on a journey to this idyllic island, not merely to revel in its beauty, but to create something truly magical: It’s Over. We filmed and recorded in the tranquil confines of a villa, accompanied by breathtaking visuals captured against Ibiza’s stunning backdrop. Ben’s Airbnb hosts were kind enough to offer us their villa to film in. As you can see in the video below the results were incredible. Not only were we recording a live visual, the saxophone part we recorded in the villa made the final song! I love the way it sounded so I kept it!

It's Over

The villa in the green luscious hills of Ibiza definitely inspired the saxophone recording. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Ibiza, as well as the rich tapestry of sounds that surrounded us. We embarked on the creation of It’s Over and we’d be happy if we captured even 1% of the essence of the island.

Armed with Max’s AMT Quantum 7 Mic, we transformed Ben’s villa into a makeshift studio, leveraging the acoustics to capture the warmth and depth of the saxophone’s sound. Max had recently invested in a completely portable studio setup, which didn’t require power. Adam Bourne and Chloe Swaby were a huge help in this regard.

COnclusion

I was blown away by the beauty and serenity of Ibiza. There is so much more to the Island than I once imagined. It opened my eyes to the possibility of recording music live, amongst nature. I will definitely be doing this again as I loved the results. A huge thanks to Ben for being patient and having the ideas to make all of this possible. The full Ibiza footage will be available by the end of the year.
